Outgoing Mail | February

Whoops, I missed Music Monday this week!

But I have a valid (enough) reason, (I hope). I've been busy working on sending some cards to friends. Also, the Mister's business got a little busy and I had to pitch in for a bit.

Why this month's mail took me more time than usual is because I wanted to include a little handmade knick-knack with it. Oh, and also, I decided hell yeah let's send mail to four people this month, all at once, why not.

I used 3 of the cards I got through my Frankie magazine from almost two years ago and made one card. Since I was saving time on making the cards, I decided to add a simple quote in each of the cards and make something small to complement it. I'm thinking it could be a bookmark, and I'm sure these recipients would love it since they love reading books.

I always underestimate the amount of time I need to prepare mail. I think it's because I don't have a clear plan as to what to include and what materials to use. Also, I feel the need to make my own envelopes instead of just using ready-made ones. Ah, it's more fun, really! It's nice to make people feel special. And you will definitely feel special by just looking at the envelope itself.

It's really nothing much, maybe because I was more eager to send them out than to make it more personalized. I hope they like their little cards! And I hope to get more creative ideas for my next mail project. March's one is gonna be big - and I only have one recipient. So I better start working on it now.

P.S: Happy Chinese New Year!

I got me a few more books recently, I couldn't help myself. BookXcess was so awesome.

from top to bottom:
Jane Austen - Persuasion
Lewis Carroll - Alice's Adventure's in Wonderland
Jimi Hendrix's Biography
JD Salinger(!!!) - The Catcher in the Rye (!!!!!!)
Paulo Coelho - The Winner Stands Alone
Eleanor Catton - The Rehearsal
Paulo Coelho - Brida
Preeta Samarasan - Evening is the Whole Day

And I got to completing another letter to be posted to another friend of mine :)
I'll be posting it tomorrow and I'm guessing it will only arrive in one to two weeks. Snail mail in all its glory.

This means it's time to start working on another letter to another dear friend. (smiley face)

P.s: About the devastating tragedy in Japan, it is really painful to watch on the news the effects of this ghastly disaster. I pray the people get the help they need. It's not worth much but I wish I could do something. For the precious lives lost, may they rest in peace. Such horrible things happening, these days.

peace+love, friends.

Jakob Dylan's Cool Dad

I'm excited even though this happened last week but I've posted my first letter :) So all I need to do now is wait and see if it actually reaches the recipient safely..Oh how I hope and pray for its safety..
Here's what I did with the envelope.. Kinda made a mistake by using thick art block paper. (the genius I am)

I hope I surprise my recipients because I love surprises and who doesn't?
In other news: I came across this cool photo of Bob Dylan. So adorable (although it looks photoshopped, but still) :)

This then reminded me that I needed to get an education on Bobby and a whole lot of his albums. There's a book out (a long while back) and I think it would be awesome to read it... I came across a really cool photo of him in his 20s in New York but it's in my Rolling Stone magazine and I don't have the facility of a scanner at the mo. :(
