When We Were Young

I just found this hiding in my adolescent journal, and thought I would share it here to show how bad at writing I was. I miss it, though.
The Streets

In the city
Where everything happens
The streets are packed with people
businessmen, lawyers, beggars,
and me.

The streets. . .
comprise of the park and great buildings
The park. . . a peaceful place
The buildings. . . a busy place

It's funny to know that two different places
can get along well
Even though criminals from the streets
commit crimes in the park,
these two places can actually get along. . . well

In the city
Where the streets live in,
Where the beggars live in,
Where the people live in,
and me.

I love the streets,
And those busy people and beggars,
The park and the great buildings,
I love the streets.

haha. This was heavily inspired by the book series Fearless by Francine Pascal (of the Sweet Valley series fame). The series made me fall in love with New York and that was what I had in mind while writing this sad excuse for a poem. Oh by the way, this is my FIRST EVER poem :)
so maybe I should cut myself some slack(?)

click on this photo to be treated to a piece of feel good music :)

Actually I have to say I was very much influenced by this series. I kinda got all of the books EXCEPT for numero uno. Which kinda sucks. I used the main character's (Gaia Moore) name for my email and stuff. Freaky. I kinda wished I could be her. Kick bad ass and be cool. Oh I was maybe 13? haha good times.
peace and love

Just a Minute. . . in October

Hello everyone! this is my first time at J.a.M. so here goes...

Reading... Paulo Coelho's Veronika Decides To Die and also Orhan Pamuk's Snow. Yup, two at the same time, although I did start on Paulo first ;)

Watching... Adventureland. Again (oh yeah..). Right now I'm craving for cheesy rom-com movies I don't know why. I feel really pathetic. But (yay) looking forward to Inglourious Basterds and tons of other movies out there.

Listening... to random music introduced by my beloved friends and also other bloggers. So, recently I listened to Oi Va Voi (a British band, please check it out!) and Passion Pit :)

Buying... bought, actually. A dress and a new wallet! yayyy

Loving... the fact that it's the holidays and two trips abroad are waiting for me in December :)

Wanting... to be better at piano. And more money. In my dreams.

Playing...along? Easy! Just add your name and link to the blog roll here so that other lovely bloggers may check you out :)

peace and love

sunshine

I actually found these a long time ago, just didn't (or too lazy to) post it up :)
these are by the quirky photographer Terry Richardson.

Only because they are two of my most favourite people in movies :)
.Leo.

.WillFerrell.

Mr diCaprio is just pure desire. Plain and simple.
Mr Ferrell just cracks me up. Every. Single. Time.

Here's a little something extra to enjoy :)

Peace n Love

been a long time

And here's why: I was busy finishing up my term paper for Music History. And then I fell sick. Yup. Was down with fever, and then because I didn't eat properly, I was attacked by gastric pain. It was such a bad experience I never want to get it, ever again. I don't even want to think or imagine or describe it. ugh.
BUT - Thanks to my loving boyfriend, Jo, I'm alive and well :) what would I do without you?

anyways on to some good stuff.

Exams are over (although I did miss my one and only History paper due to the crappy sickness, which I will have to sit for only next year, which in turn becomes a pain because I hate to sit for papers and now I have to wait so long and it doesn't help to think about how everyone else in my class have already sat for it)

Anyways - I went out today, with cousin Meens, because I felt like spending money and it's been too long since I did..I think the last time was in April? but I spent it on something I desperately needed: a wallet. And also something else I didn't need as much: a dress :)

Yep, it's from Roxy :)

check out the ribbon detail, it's awesome :)

yeah, that's about all I spent on..besides a java chip frapp and tempura in Sushi Zanmai heheh..
Now, it's back to being poor :(
Scrounging time is here again, oh too early..

oh the joy

It's officially Thursday, so I'll have to say that I just watched 500 Days of Summer on Tuesday :)
Wow it was really 'real', as cuz Meena put it.
It's not your typical love story fairy tale nonsense. I think that's a good thing because people should wake up and realize it's not all happy everyday. Plus, there were lotsa funny parts, funny things and quotes...overall, it was simply awesome :)
And don't get me started on the soundtrack! Meens was right, Fox Searchlight Pictures make the some of the BEST movies. With good music! scratch that, with freaking Awesome mind-blowing music!! it's like getting a 6-star spa massage treatment..for your ears...I can't explain it..I guess I'm just drawn to indie and folk..a lot..wouldn't have, without the help from Meens of course..she was my first source. :)

Here are some of the tracks you will encounter while watching this super movie
1. Sweet Disposition - The Temper Trap
2. Us - Regina Spektor
3. Mushaboom - Feist
4. Bad Kids - Black Lips
5. She's Got You High - Mumm Ra
6. Vagabond - Wolfmother

ok, that's enough, I might as well copy down the whole soundtrack already haha..
enjoy it as much as i did :)

it's a hot air balloon necklace!

i really wish i have nothing else to do but blog then i would have the time do so much of crazy, nice, awesome stuff. But then, I would run out of money so maybe I should be at least working part-time or something.
For now, it's off to starting my dreaded assignment which is due very soon (yes i'm only just about to start..)
