old news, but in other words..

cool stamp collage by eklektick (via goodnight little spoon)

Sorry for the as-always silent treatment for too long but it is the holidays and I guess I need a little vacation away from the computer from time to time as well, right? Not that I'm a hell of a writer writing day and night anyways, eh.. Anyways, besides the chaos that is my brother's return from Ukraine for good and his graduation and wedding...I've still managed to find some interesting stuff online (yes, I don't feel like blogging but I do still read other people's blogs haha..)
OK so thanks to Sam Sebastian, I checked out this hilarious article: If Historical Events had Facebook Statuses. Gawd was it a good laugh. And it doesn't end there. I was curious about what this whole website was about (it's called Cool Material) and I stumbled upon yet another interesting article on Diego Gravinese, an artist. Holy crapzer he is just too damn good for this world.

In other elements, I've discovered (and rediscovered) instrumental music. mostly guitarists. electric guitarists. Paul Gilbert, Jimi H, BB King..awesome. I have to say this is all because my bro is crazy about them and gave me a listen and then made me crazy about them.

Although I've been dying for the holidays, I've found myself dying to get back to uni and KL...

untitled #2

{random: work by evan hecox via automatism}

I don't want to sound like a poet (though I do wish I could). I have definitely lost the purpose of this blog. But that is not a bad thing. It is a good thing. (wow)
Now I don't feel like I have to post about this or that and not everything I plan to write/post about. So yes, it's definitely in a good place right now. I'm very thankful for those who read my random thoughts here. Thank you.

Like I said. Not a poet. Nor writer material (though I hope to have some grasp of it soon)
I'm more interested in crafty stuff now, although I definitely don't look the type at all. And I don't know jack about craft. All I know best is cutting and pasting. And writing(with a pen, not keyboard. haha)

So it's the holidays for me...until September 1st. So I better make the most of it. Like getting a diving license and making brownies and cookies. And practicing the piano. Hopefully.

i see songs

But I think everyone else does as well. What else would you be doing while listening to a song? definitely imagining something in your head, maybe a place, an event, people, objects. Or even replaying the video of the song in your head (if there was a video - and if you saw it.)
Well, this one particular song that got me imagining a place was definitely not in the video.

The video: stop motion crazy random sh*t, a little on the line of the lyrics.
In my head: the streets of Paris, or even any cobblestone road and pavement. Oh, don't ask. It just appeared to me as the song came on my player. And I was thoroughly impressed by the ability of Regina Spektor's song to conjure such an image (more like images, actually). But I do have a feeling that it has to do with the piano line..and violins.

[in other news]
Partied with the gang after a long time. It was very, very awesome :)

P.S: what do you see when you listen to particular songs?

Sense

This is what the world is for,
Making electricity.
-MGMT, Electric Feel

To me, I think MGMT's lyrics are just real. Or maybe it will seem real when you're high. Either way, it makes sense to me. (*imagine me shrugging my shoulders here*)

Minding Inaccurate Accusations

OK, so once again I've been caught up with bucket-loads of work. And now, I'm almost done. Just finished a piano exam today. Got 5 more pages to write for an essay on the Classical piano concerto and how it affected the sociology of that time. Nice. I missed my dear friend's birthday yesterday ugh. Nicole, we will celebrate again, I don't care!
I have no inspiration to write (how convenient for my essay) now..so here's some music..

do have a listen to these because these are just some of the songs that have the power to comfort you :)
