eureka

{sneak peek at awesomeness}

I feel like I've discovered an awesome, untouched gold mine! I was just getting through my daily blog reading (yeah, I follow about 50+ blogs) and while reading sfgirlbybay's blogpost by a guest blogger from a blog called dudley, I came across this blog by Lucy Laucht.
Once you've taken a look, you'll agree with me for sure. I'd want her as my stylist if I was a celebrity. And since I'm not, I think I've found my style guru. She's perfect!
And then, Miss Lucy recommends another fashion blogger: Qqueen of Hearts. And I'm like, "Wow". This is like a treasure chest you never want to share with anybody. Almost.
So, enjoy, as I will.

Sublimination

{it won't be my last time waiting for you - RICOR}

a hot day it was
as everyday can be
i was left breathless

never had to be
slowly reversing inside
a big hole of dust

OK, so reading Fight Club has somewhat inspired me to try writing haiku. Oh, it's definitely new to me. But fun. You find yourself being very aware of what you write and how many syllables you use each line. And sometimes haiku don't make sense and that's the beauty of it. You annoy a reader in 3 lines. Cool.

p.s: I realize I went a little mental here in the last few days but it's been better, all's good.

overload

sirens
screaming out my name
asking me to open my eyes
to watch the world go about
torching the sky
spoiling my sight
causing the sirens
to bellow their melodic voices
at me.
the beginning is starting to end
the end is starting to begin
what am i to preach about
when everyone is packing and leaving
this ruined place
buried under buildings
green monsters with cynical horns
striking everyone it sets eyes upon
causing me to shut my eyes
making the sirens
wail again.

Wind through the horse's a**

I've had it with those people. I want to forever cut them out of my life because I have no need at all for them.
They are just excess baggage, rubbish, white noise, bullshit, shit, and what else have you about nonsensical crap. A waste of time and life and precious moments.
I will cut them out of my life when I can, hopefully from next year onwards. Yeah, even this needs planning and a schedule.
Welcome to my life.
But then life is what you make of it, so the only person to point your finger to, is me.

We'll crucify the insincere tonight.
We'll make things right, we'll feel it all tonight.
We'll find a way to offer up the night tonight.
The indescribable moments of your life, tonight.
The impossible is possible tonight.
Believe in me, as I believed in you.
Tonight.
(Smashing Pumpkins, "Tonight, Tonight" from Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness)
I always thought this song was in the Adore album. hah.
Been hearing a lot of it lately. From the radio to my playlist. Been popping up a few times, and it does speak to me, because it's Smashing Pumpkins. Enough said.
Billy Corgan's a good guy.

Updates:

Reading: Fight Club
Watching: nothing. TV is getting annoying, and I'm trying to cut out watching series altogether.
Starting: to exercise. slowly...
Wanting:-to learn how to knit.
-a lot of money (but I know it's impossible because I'm not even working bleh)
Practicing: some pieces on the piano.
Disliking: Malaysian drivers' lack of etiquette and conscience. Brains, basically.

Oh gosh, Christmas is inching closer. I've put on a lot of weight. Such bad timing I have. But haven't I always? Haven't gotten anything for Christmas at all, neither for me or others. BAD.

In other news: I've passed my piano exam! I am so so happy and excited that I can move on and not dwell on it anymore (because I thought results would only be out in January). This is awesome but I need to start learning some new pieces soon :) *excited*

Bad news: I still haven't gotten around to developing my two rolls of film. It's been ages. And this coming weekend I'm gonna be using another roll. It's my cousin Livia's Birthday Party/Dinner Thing! It's gonna be so good seeing my rascal cousins again :)

Quotable Quotes

There's a website of a really cool and awesome artist called Handlettering Cite. He writes out clever, inspiring, and thought-provoking quotes of notable individuals. It helps that it turns out really good. I'd love to do something like this soon :)

In case it's not too clear:
"Security is mostly a superstition, it does not exist in nature..
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing"
-Helen Keller
[this is my favorite]
Another cool blog about kissing-photos has some nice quotes, more towards love and all that stuff. Two that caught my eye:
"Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That's relativity."
--Albert Einstein

"Boys and girls in America have such a sad time together; sophistication demands that they submit to sex immediately without proper preliminary talk. Not courting talk- real straight talk about souls, for life is holy and every moment is precious.” --Jack Kerouac, On the Road
p.s: Jack Kerouac's On the Road would be another book that I'd love to read. :)

Obsessing over... [Vol. 2]

{random: cool photo of John Lennon back in the day courtesy of Sense & Sensibility, via Daydream Lily}

Books! Not something new, but I've suddenly bought 4 books and a magazine in 2 days *gasp*. Spent about 90 bucks altogether. I'm so excited, I've never done something like this before, and I feel really free and more in control, more confident and I can't wait to do more new things. I don't know what came over me, really. I just felt like buying a book. It's been a year since my last bought book, if I'm not mistaken. Yes, I'm one of those people who whine and groan about the prices of books being too high, because really, they just are.

Anyway, here's my bought list:
  1. Fight Club - Chuck Palahniuk (awesome edition, cheap, 29.90)
  2. Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte (steal - 9.90)
  3. The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde (quite a steal, 20.90)
  4. Crime and Punishment - Fyodor Dostoevsky (super steal! 8.50!)
  5. frankie Magazine (!) (killer ex cos it's Oz-imported: 29.50)
And here's my to-read-more-when-I-can list (mostly just the authors):
  • another Dostoevsky book
  • Haruki Murakami's works
  • To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
  • Gabriel Garcia Marquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude
  • F. Scott Fitzgerald's books
  • Capote's books
  • Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
  • Ian McEwan's books
  • Nick Cave's 2 books so far.. (yes, the Nick Cave!)
  • Flaubert's Madame Bovary
  • Anaïs Nin's Delta of Venus
  • Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
  • many more Classics, as much as I am able to handle :)
Yup I've suddenly gotten into classics. Notice also that I do still consider the price of the books I buy, only because I would do anything to save just a little bit more money. But I feel lucky that I could actually find these awesome books with my budget :)

Even so, this made me think of buying e-books instead, but then again, the feel of paper and a good cover doesn't come close to reading a book from a screen (ugh). I know, I know, e-books are more environment-friendly but c'mon, the books are already printed, I might as well get them, right?

At the moment, I'm supposed to be reading my Tolstoy (Anna Karenin) and Ian McEwan's Amsterdam, but I've gone and started reading Fight Club. Oh dear..I think it's possible to read 2 books at once, but three? I think I have to decide to let one book go for now.. Thank God for the holidays.

p.s: Photos will come later! (cos I'm that excited that I actually wanna take photos of my new babies, hah.)

Love and all its Glamour

It's been a week since I last posted, because I've been bumming non-stop with no internet mostly. Anyway, I'm back and I found this cool post on Moodboard while going through my blog-reading list:

It's Fabrizio Moretti and Binki Shapiro from Little Joy and it's a shoot they did for Elle Magazine. I wish all couples could look as cool as they do. They just ooze of coolness without trying. They make being in love look so effortless, so easy, so freeing. Actually, it sometimes is and then it's not. So yeah,I guess this piece could be used to let women know that there is hope after all. Maybe.

Oh, here's another couple shoot by Glamour magazine you should check out, also found from Moodboard. Trust me, you would want to have a look.
