i see songs

But I think everyone else does as well. What else would you be doing while listening to a song? definitely imagining something in your head, maybe a place, an event, people, objects. Or even replaying the video of the song in your head (if there was a video - and if you saw it.)
Well, this one particular song that got me imagining a place was definitely not in the video.

The video: stop motion crazy random sh*t, a little on the line of the lyrics.
In my head: the streets of Paris, or even any cobblestone road and pavement. Oh, don't ask. It just appeared to me as the song came on my player. And I was thoroughly impressed by the ability of Regina Spektor's song to conjure such an image (more like images, actually). But I do have a feeling that it has to do with the piano line..and violins.

[in other news]
Partied with the gang after a long time. It was very, very awesome :)

P.S: what do you see when you listen to particular songs?

Sense

This is what the world is for,
Making electricity.
-MGMT, Electric Feel

To me, I think MGMT's lyrics are just real. Or maybe it will seem real when you're high. Either way, it makes sense to me. (*imagine me shrugging my shoulders here*)

Minding Inaccurate Accusations

OK, so once again I've been caught up with bucket-loads of work. And now, I'm almost done. Just finished a piano exam today. Got 5 more pages to write for an essay on the Classical piano concerto and how it affected the sociology of that time. Nice. I missed my dear friend's birthday yesterday ugh. Nicole, we will celebrate again, I don't care!
I have no inspiration to write (how convenient for my essay) now..so here's some music..

do have a listen to these because these are just some of the songs that have the power to comfort you :)

love note

Slipping, slipping
Pulling away
stares
As far as she goes
He runs after
when the dark days come
Letting go seems inevitable
but not for him
not for me
Her hands hold tight
to his shirt
The only thing she knows
in this world
for sure
is
He is the one.

Ok this is my sad attempt at writing without thinking too much. I will do better next time. I don't really care if this is all bad I just needed to get it out.

Every You Every Me

{photo from KissMeQuick}

Sucker love is heaven sent
You pucker up, our passion's spent
My heart's a tart, your body's rent
My body's broken, yours is bent
Carve your name into my arm
Instead of stressed, I lie here charmed
'Cuz there's nothing else to do
Every me and every you.

Sucker love, a box I choose
No other box I choose to use
Another love I would abuse
No circumstances could excuse
In the shape of things to come
Too much poison come undone
'Cuz there's nothing else to do
Every me and every you.

Sucker love is known to swing
Prone to cling and waste these things
Pucker up for Heaven's sake
There's never been so much at stake
I serve my head up on a plate
It's only comfort, calling late
'Cuz there's nothing else to do
Every me and every you.

Like the naked leaves the blind
I know I'm selfish, I'm unkind
Sucker love I always find
Someone to bruise and leave behind
All alone in space and time
There's nothing here but what here's mine
Something borrowed, something blue
Every me and every you.

So I wish I wrote this song. It's a good feeling getting into a song and really 'hearing' the words. There's something poetic about lyrics of songs. Don't get me wrong, not all songs out there are poetic, oh no. Only a select few. And I have yet to discover some of them still. Another songwriter/writer/poet I'd like to highlight is none other than the amazing Brandon Boyd. Oh, I'll be getting his book White Fluffy Clouds soon! I don't think I need to go on further.

{couldn't resist this. Sorry I lost the source for this cool photo}
